Considering a rank of 44xxx, if I only want to join NITs

What can be the best possible combination of (college+branch) .

HS - Andhra Pradesh.

Can I expect to join the ECE Branch here?

How are the professors and the academic environment?

In ECE Branch is there spare time to devote to prepare for other exams just in case?

How is condition of hostel and food??

Can I get any branch in DTU at my rank?

Also Should I apply Cat 6 being a defence ward in the counselling or directly apply for spot rounds???
