Hi everyone! I’m 32F and am struggling with histamine/mast cell issues.

I’ve always had allergy and histamine issues but after I had my daughter 2 years ago things have gotten out of control.

I broke out in a horrible rash on my face that caused scarring during pregnancy and then since then have struggled with consistent skin issues. Hives, dermatitis, eczema, rosacea, flushing, adrenaline dumps, reactions to medication.

I have IIH then developed POTS during pregnancy which my doctors think is related to IIH. I did a lower sodium diet for IIH but then had to increase sodium for pots but then started having weird random reactions to foods.

Like I can’t tolerate any pickled or fermented foods, spicy foods, vinegar based foods. I had to stop eating things like gumbo or even pizza cause I’d get sick.

I recently cut out chocolate and cinnamon cause that caused major flushing. Even citric acid upsets my stomach. My doctor has me on Allegra and Pepcid daily.

During this time of year I walk outside and break out in eczema just from the heat and my skin gets hot and flushed and itches so bad.

How do people know what to eat with this? My doctor said I should try a Whole30 diet and that I may need to be on it for the rest of my life which is fine. I struggle really bad with tracking food and just feel overwhelmed and don’t know how to track all of this and make those habit changes.

How do you track this? Where do I start? What does the journaling look like?

I’m hoping for some direction cause this all feels overwhelming.

Just wanting to vent to those who understand.

I have IIH and need to lose 50-75lbs, mostly weight I gained from pregnancy. My daughter will be 2 soon and pots got so much worse postpartum for me I haven’t been able to focus on weight loss till recently. My weight is making IIH worse and I’m on Diamox but trying to lose weight slowly.

Summer already makes pots soooo much worse for me and I’m in a heat wave and in south Texas so the heat is already suffering.

I tried a GLP-1 but it made me throw up for 12 hours and then I could barely eat for almost a week cause of nausea so I stopped it. Ever since then I’ve been in a pots flare and feel horrible.

If I increase salt and water then it triggers IIH, and if I cut back then it triggers pots. Like I can’t win 😭

People had posted that weight loss made pots worse and they were right 😭 I really hope this stabilizes eventually cause I need to be able to function and lately I feel like the brain fog is so bad I’m living on another planet lmao
