re watching and re reading HxH and I always asked myself
where did the Ant Queen get her Human Characteristics from? From what we know
she never ate a Human herself, until she started hunting in NGL and later on, you find out the Queen even suspects that she has some Human DNA within her. So where on earth did she get it from?
Obviously it would have to be from her previous nest from the previous Queen and it's all from the Dark Continent. My Theory is
Since the Ant Queen drifted to NGL which is the most South of the human world and it just so happens to be located at the South Shores of Lake Mobius which is where the V5 at the time encountered Zobae Disease.
Could the Chimera Ants of the DC have eaten the corpses of the "dead" humans there? But since they were corpses for however long, only some characteristics. Like Human like teeth and being Bipedal. But stagnated since (I Beleive) the Chimera Ants of the Dark Continent are near the bottom of the food chain.
And thus perhaps some sort crazy looking DC Ant Eater invaded their nest and one queen got away drifted ashore to the human world to escape.
Perhaps, when we do go INTO the DC in the story, could we be seeing chimera ants of different nest but looking far more similar to the Ant Queen we know.
