My late grandmother’s chain- how to tell if it’s real gold?

Hello! So, I know it’s probably impossible to tell me for sure if the chain is real or not over the internet. I plan to go to my local jeweler at some point!

But until then, is there anything you can tell about the chain from the photos? It’s has a good weight to it, super shiny, and I don’t see any tarnishing. I can see a 14K stamp on the clasp (but I know that doesn’t guarantee authenticity). Also, how thick do you estimate it is?

Any input greatly appreciated! Thank you all!

I recently bought a “secondary market 1 oz gold bar, no plastic” from Monument Metals. I expected a generic loose bar, but when it arrived it looked like it might be a vintage Australian Harrington / Harringtons cast bar.

The hallmark is a little weak/worn, but the “TON” portion of the logo is visible, and the overall shape/layout looks similar to Harrington examples I’ve found online.

Can anyone here confirm whether this is Harrington / Harringtons? Also, does anyone know approximately when this Australian bar style was minted/cast?

203 grams. Left in bleach for 72 hrs, hit it with a butter knife (which caused dents) then tore off the end with a hammer. This is the end result

Face area less than credit card, roughly 7.5cm long and 4.5cm wide. Average thickness id say .7cm at thickest, .4-.5mm at middle and .1-.3 at thinnest (at the top)

Would rather get opinions first then embarrass myself at a jewellers

You can all be jealous. If i were you, I would be. This came to me from a local customer and is one of the coolest little batches that has ever crossed my scale.

The prospector is 13.2g of solid 10k gold and the nugget is 2.64g and tests 22k+

Melt it? Not a mf chance. I sold the prospector to my buddy for spot price since Alaskan gold mining is his entire schtick, but the nugget is mine, now!

Little wins. Thought I'd share 😉
