How to do PhD in the US after Mtech Biomedical Engineering in India

Hello fellow biomedical engineers.

Whats the pathway to an US PhD after Mtech from an IIT in Biomedical Engineering in India? I am particularly interested in aging and neural senescence.

Would be immensely grateful for any guidance.

Guys what's the difference between shortlisted and "Provisionally shortlisted" ??

Also why i was shortlisted for Biotech and Bioengg but not Biomedical Engineering even though it has lower cutoff?
