Me and my girlfriend recently moved in together, and I have a cat who I’ve had for over 3 years now, so my girlfriend has been wanting to adopt a cat of her own. She adopted a kitten a week and a half ago. The problem is that he likes me more and always chooses to cuddle up in my lap or go to me for attention.

I was usually the one feeding and grooming him, as we feed and groom both of the cats at the same time, and she was busier and more exhausted with her work schedule the last week. He got sick when he first moved in so I’m giving him his medications, and was caring for him then, as I am able to work from home.

She has been trying to be the one to feed and groom him as her work schedule has lightened, and he has been a little bit sweeter towards her.

I know this causes my girlfriend some sadness, as she has said a couple of times that he likes me more.

This isn’t causing any issues between my girlfriend and I, but I’d like to have her kitten give her more attention because I don’t want her to be sad, and I don’t want my cat to get jealous.

Any tips on getting him to spend more time with her or redirecting him to my girlfriend?
