1. Ignoring "Tashkeel" (Vowel Marks)

  • The Fix: Practice reading with Tashkeel early on until your brain recognizes patterns naturally

2. Literal Translation from Your Native Language

  • The Fix: Focus on learning phrases and collocations rather than isolated words

3. Neglecting the Roots System

  • The Fix: Study the Sarfl (Morphology) patterns early. It makes vocabulary building much faster!

4. Choosing the Wrong Dialect vs. MSA (Fusha)

  • The Fix: Identify your goal first. If you want to read Quraan or literature or news, stick to Fusha. If you want to chat with friends, pick a dialect, but always keep a foundation in Fusha to understand the logic

5. Fear of Making Mistakes

  • The Fix: Speak from Day 1! Native speakers appreciate the effort, and consistent practice is the only way to train your vocal muscles for these new sounds
