Every day is a learning day
Hi, recently upgraded to a 360hz monitor from my current 180hz.
Followed all the steps installed latest drivers and firmware. Got my settings perfect and then shut my pc down. When I switched on my pc later that day the monitor wouldn’t wake up, I had to un lug it and plug it back in every time to get it to work, after what seemed like a age of troubleshooting I found the problem….
It was such a simple fix but to me not obvious.
My original monitor was connected by DP which is the same for my new monitor, what ii didn’t realise was that which DP port you use makes a difference in regards to waking your monitor, my DO was the furthest away from the motherboard. Which I now know was the problem. Because my new monitor is a much higher HZ the wake process was diifferent. And the motherboard prioritises the ports closest to it sending the wake up message. I switched to the very first one on my GPU and lo and behold it woke on start up.
I’m sure lots of people are going to say didn’t you know that it’s 101 pc setup but I’m still learning .
Maybe this will help someone else who knows
