Why do I hear music all the time?
When I wake up, there’s already some music playing in my head. It doesn’t sound like something coming from outside; it’s more like you’ve been listening to music on headphones, taken them off, but the music has continued playing.
The music stops only when I sleep or listen to real (external) music.
It could be absolutely any kind of music. Songs I love, songs I hate. Less often, it’s something that doesn’t actually exist.
Usually, one short part of a song gets stuck in my head, and after about 1–5 hours it’s replaced by another. It’s very annoying and I can’t focus on reading or studying.
If I’m feeling stressed and sleep-deprived, the music may seem louder.
A few words about my medical history:
Five years ago (before the music started in my head), I was diagnosed with schizotypal disorder. I changed doctors several times, and they all diagnosed me with schizotypal disorder
As a child, I sometimes experienced tactile, visual and auditory hallucinations.
I have tried Cariprazine, Risperidone and Fluanxol. Nothing has helped so far.
I had a brain scan, and the doctors said everything was fine.
What could be causing this? How can I get rid of this symptom? It’s really annoys me. I’ve forgotten what it’s like to have a quiet mind.
