I’ve been on Lexapro for a little less than three years. Overall, it’s changed my life for the better. My anxiety is near non-existent, and when I do get pangs of it, it’s much more manageable. I once suffered with such bad insomnia I was like a walking zombie, and now I sleep thru the night. I truly don’t know where I would be without this drug.

But…the sweating. It’s ROUGH. First of all I’ve gained weight on Lexapro, so has that added to the sweating? Maybe. But the way I sweat now is different than the way I used to sweat. My body temp is uncontrollable. I will get just the slightest bit warm and my face will uncontrollably sweat and it feels like it takes me FOREVER to cool down and stop sweating. During these moments if I feel the skin on my chest or face it feels clammy and almost cool to the touch, but my body temp feels out of control. I don’t really get night sweats, at least not badly. This is more like during the day if I get even remotely warm.

I recently moved to NYC and it’s humid and hot here so I really want to get this situation under control ASAP. I’m open to switching SSRIs, or whatever needs to happen. Has anyone managed to successfully address the sweating issue??
