Finished Half-life 2: Episode 2 today. I have a question: WHAT THE F*** IS THAT ENDING??

What kind of cliffhanger is that??? It just ends like that, with no sequel, even though the game is over 20 years old? Why would you do that to me? RIP Eli.

I just have to share a few thoughts on the game itself. HL2 is a truly fantastic shooter that has aged incredibly well, and the gameplay is outstanding. You’re constantly discovering new weapons, and each one is better than the last. The Graviator is very handy if you want to conserve ammo, and the OSIPR gun is really cool too. But my favorite weapon was the one that lets you control the antlions. That level was just incredible with that weapon. Overall, as I said, the gameplay was top-notch, and that’s exactly what makes the game one of the best shooters for me. As for the NPCs, I find it incredibly interesting how fluidly they all move. Of course, I know that HL2 isn’t an open-world game compared to Cyberpunk 2077, but the NPCs here just look so much better in comparison, because they move so naturally and don’t seem so stiff. The only negative thing I noticed is the story, but that’s not necessarily an aspect that bothered me much. I just didn’t quite understand the whole backstory surrounding the Combine and all that, but I guess I’d just have to look it up online.

In terms of gameplay, HL2 was really a lot of fun, and I think it’s far better than the first game. HL1 was good too, but the entire final section around Xen kind of ruined it for me. I would have liked to start with Half-Life: Alyx, but unfortunately I don’t have a high-end PC or a VR headset. Still, I really enjoyed HL2 and would love to play it again.
