After moving into my residence, I realized the kitchen setup uses a stove with an over-the-range microwave vent, and the suction is really weak. For those of you who cook a lot in dorms, how easy is it to accidentally trigger the smoke detector?

Can anyone living in KWTQ share whether a portable AC is necessary in the summer? I just moved onto the 7th floor, and I only have a window fan right now.
