Fantasy cities inspiration
I'm planning a book called discovering the 100[not the final number, I'm currently looking for a more symbolic number] cities of Kal-Tar[also placeholder name].
In this book is told of the voyage of a child(which meets and loses friends along the way) in these 100 all different cities, of course I'm not going to let him visit all 100 because it'd be too long and I really want to spend time in every city.
This world has a sort of magic system but it'll not be defined and will not be combat oriented but more on utilities.
These cities are really all different: some are bright and full of life and some are dark and apocalyptic also with horror elements.
I partially draw inspiration for "the invisible cities" by Italo Calvino and I was looking for more ideas on interesting cities I might put in the story.
I have thought about something like an infected city with humans mutated into flesh monsters by eldritch gods so there will be some cosmic horror elements.
Please help me in this brainstorming with more city ideas
