Hey everyone I am new to this community but I don’t think I have found an answer to this:
How do you navigate around RBTs that show an extensive difficulty doing the job?
Context: they are highly educated and will be sitting for the BCBA exam in a year but tend to lack on common concepts and understanding challenging behavior programs. For instance, a client recently had an environment change and they were just told to pair. In supervising the session, the RBT just sat by the client and gave extensive aversive demands. I tried to model the pairing and explain it, but coming in the supervise again they are still doing the same things. This goes for any programs, challenging behaviors, etc. When asking about implementing an NCR program that is in there (and they were trained on it) they asked “what is that?”
I just want to understand maybe a new method for helping them understand the job. Especially if they will soon be sitting for an exam.
