I would just like to share that I am currently building my county’s first centralized GMRS repeater. It started out as an idea after I got my license and realized my closest repeater is nearly 20 miles away but is only designated to cover a VERY small area.

I decided to dedicate my time to build a repeater to cover my local reservoirs and state forests because cell service is very lack luster in those areas.

Currently, the build is a 35’ TV tower with a 21’ mast to raise a 2.2m 8.8dBm Omni antenna. I just tore down a 50’ tower and will be fabricating the two together to build a larger tower and get larger radius until I can hopefully secure a designated 100’ tower.
