I had a dental implant done Friday on my lower left as well as a bone graft done next to it in preparation for a future implant. I also had an implant done on the upper right.
The upper right is feeling good and have had little to no pain. The bottom left has been unbearable. I was told to take Motrin alternating with Tylenol and given a zpack for after the procedure. I have not slept in 3 days. The pain is radiating from the bottom implant to under my tongue, up to my upper teeth and nose on that side. I have splotchy area of numbness on my chin on that side.
I went back today and they gave me Augmentin to take as well as hydrocodone to be taken along with 800 mg of Motrin. I am due to go back tomorrow to see if there is any improvement. The dentist is unsure why I am in so much pain. I took the Augmentin , Motrin and hydrocodone upon getting home and for the first time experienced some relief. Now 5 hours later the awful pain is quickly returning. I’m wondering if I should ask to have the implant removed.
