Hi! This is not my cat. She is my white domestic shorthair cat in law that I live with. She is approximately 9 years old and unspayed. She has had 2 litters when she was young (yes I know, im super pro spay & neuter but she is not my cat and I wasn’t around then). She recently developed this brown sludgy discharge coating her vaginal opening. Is this the beginning of pyometra or is she simply bad at cleaning herself? For reference she is almost always in heat and she is mildly obese as well. I would assume she is around 15 lbs and is small in stature. She is acting pretty much normal. Still affectionate and is drinking/eating regularly. https://imgur.com/a/oEwSYRD here’s what it looks like

Hi! This is my (F23) in laws cat. We are from the USA. She is unspayed and roughly 9 years old. She is in heat almost year round. Recently she developed this brown sludge oozing from her vaginal opening. In laws said it was just poop. I do worry that it’s a case of open pyometra. I tried to get the best video I could but she won’t let me investigate and I don’t want to cause her any pain. Even if it is just poop wouldn’t she get a UTI from fecal matter being in the vaginal opening? I want to contact the vet but my in laws are very easily bothered by me and I dont want this to start any issues with them since they think they know better than me :(
