Mexico 2 weeks

I’m planning a trip to Mexico with my partner.

We would land in Mexico City and spend 4 nights there. Explore the city and also a little bit outside.

Then Oaxaca 3 nights there explore the city and the surroundings (I know there is a lot more to see there and I will probably regret only having spent 3 days in the area).

Then San Cristobal via Tuxtla airport for 4 nights to see the waterfalls, villages and canyons. Though maybe 3 nights is enough and then 4 nights in Oaxaca may be better?

Then flight to the Yucatán area and spend the last 3 days there. We were thinking of staying in playa del Carmen because Cancun may be a little too touristy (I am aware playa del Carmen is probably similar) and the other regions are unfortunately not right at the beach.

I am still debating about skipping San Cristobal entirely but I am interested in the nature there. However I have heard that the region may not be the safest at the moment though San Cristobal and the area might be okay?

I’m looking forward to your feedback and advice.
