My ferritin has been on a downward trend since first tested in 2022. Started at 68 then dropped to 8. During this timing, I had a lot of random health issues. My anxiety came back full force and I had to restart SSRIs. My libido went from through the roof to nonexistent (before starting anxiety meds).
The biggest issue was that my eczema, which was nonexistent since childhood, returned with a VENGEANCE. I saw multiple dermatologists, allergists, and was dismissed as a mystery and sent home with a bunch of topicals. It affected me so much. My eyes were so red and itchy I couldn’t sleep. Even with steroids my back would be covered and so itchy. Negative fungal tests, skin scrapes, negative allergy testing. It has affected my quality of life so much. It’s gotten better recently but it’s still lingering.
Can this be caused by my ferritin dropping? I had been on birth control most of my adult life and stopped about 6 months before the levels started dropping. Assuming once I started getting a period is when it went downhill.
