Curious to see what people post. I'm in the 1k elo range on team games (since that's basically all that I play), but I definitely have some problem areas with my games.

  1. Hybrid maps seem to be my biggest challenge.

Full water and land maps for me tend to have a much clearer game plan by comparison, but hybrid maps, especially Nomad maps give me the biggest struggle when it comes to mid and late game. My economy just keeps falling off. It seems like not every hybrid map has a similar game plan either.

  1. I'm bad about not utilizing Unique Units and non-Mangonel/Bombard siege workshop units enough.

I hardly ever use rams and scorpions because I'm so used to losing them. It seems like my scorpions tend to get sniped too easily and the rams just end up dying with bad micro with ungarrisoning infantry.

As for Castles/Unique Units, I'm bad about making uniques. I really don't like the sunken cost of a Castle when it comes to Unique Units when I can make extra stables, archery ranges, barracks for units that help utilize my civ's bonuses. I tend to just use my Castles as defensive area control. I understand that certain Uniques can give strong advantages, but unless if I'm Magyars, Goths, or Huns, I usually just avoid Uniques a lot, and I feel like this habit is giving me a skill ceiling. What's the ideal time for you to transition to Uniques?

Hey guys,

I've got experience with multiple contracts completed, and I was wondering if I should keep this career going.

I'm getting interviews inside of news, but outside (PR, Communications), not so much.

With all the consolidation that's happening, I feel like there's really only a few media companies left I'd feel willing to work for.

I spoke to my parents, and they said if worse comes to worst I can move back home to try to figure things out.

If it helps, I'm interviewing with a solid O&O station, but I also keep wondering if I go to work there (if I get an offer), what comes next? What I would be paid would not be enough to save up for a house, as I would be breaking even (enough to pay off bills, not enough to save anything).

Moving to the top ranks like NYC or LA really doesn't interest me. But it feels like any opportunities for promotions or anything like that have been totally blocked off at decent market sizes.

I've considered moving back home and going back to college for a quick degree like Nursing, though it would be a complete shift from what I'm doing now.

I just wanted to hear your thoughts on all this. I'm feeling unsure about what to pursue, and the state of the jobs market isn't helping at all.

I'm 30 if that helps.
