I've started a new career with Holstein Kiel in the 2. Bundesliga, which seems to be a pretty tough and evenly matched division. I am playing on World Class which has been my usual difficulty over the course of several years, but I've not played a ton of FC26 so not great at the game this year.
The board expect us to fight for promotion, and we do sit in second place after a handful of games, but with a record of two wins and five draws from our opening seven games. That includes only seven goals scored and four conceded. We're eight points behind first and in a four-way tie for second. Also scraped a 1-0 win in the first round of the cup against a team from the league below. Maybe I'm making judgements too early into a season but I've never played one quite like this in 20 years of career/manager modes.
I think I've come to the conclusion that four-minute halves are simply not long enough for much to happen at both ends - I never used to find this to be the case, and I wonder if this is partly to do with how the AI plays on World Class. I think I'm going to extend the halves to give more time for things to actually happen.
All the games are really cagey, with few chances at either end. Of course it's partly down to my own skill level, but it seems strange that I never had this issue on previous editions.
What half length do you guys play on out of curiosity? I enjoy progressing the career at a decent pace and typically only get to play a few times a week for an hour or so, so looking to find a nice balance.
Sorry, that was a bit of a ramble. Basically two questions:
- Is World Class boring or is it just me?
- What is your preferred half length?
