Thanks to everyone for all their advice on my previous posts, unfortunately you were all absolutely correct! I was diagnosed with CML yesterday (with the Philadelphia chromosome thing) and started on Imatinib immediately. Lots of get my head around but I wouldn't have pushed so hard for a referral without the invaluable advice given here.

Had I waited for my GP to do their thing, it could've been a different story.

I've been summoned to see Hematology after bloods were taken last week, not exactly sure what ones they took but GP said for 'general blood cancer and bone marrow issues'.

My last post gives some background but I've had 4 months of abnormal results and no other causes have been found. Hematology initially refused the GP referral, but asked them to run these tests ....4 days after samples were sent, I got a phonecall asking me to come in for a face to face. All seems very quick and I'm now quietly shitting myself about possible outcomes tomorrow!
