My husband and I have been shopping for a home. I have always wanted a house with two specific things. A lot of flat land and a bedroom on the main floor. We found a home with both of those things. Of course, because of bidding wars, we put in a bid for $460k. It is a 3-bed 1-bath 1200 square foot home in Jefferson, NJ. We are well aware we are overpaying.
We found out during inspection that one of those bedrooms can not be considered a bedroom because there is no heating mechanism. Paying that much for what is really a 2-bedroom feels absurd. We DO NOT want to pay this amount.
Do we pull out? Or see if we can negotiate a lower price. We absolutely love the house and have been looking at what's on the market, and nothing else compares. This is our forever home, so do we just overpay, or do we pull out and wait to see if something else comes on the market?
