R-22 unit btw, washed down the coils, checked the filter and nothing was over amping or working hard, i took off the fan and felt the compressor and it was extremely hot, also tried to feed it more refrigerant but it wouldnt take any more than the pressures that are reading, bad compressor ? i changed out a bad capacitor as well to the condenser fan even tho the fan was running without proper mfd, still caused compressor to overheat and shut itself down
