Hey everyone,

I wanted to share something that happened recently and get some advice from people who may have gone through something similar.

About 3 days ago, I noticed a small transaction of $1.37 via PayPal on my Scotia Bank Amex Gold credit card. I didn’t think much of it at first, but the next day there was a $3,700 charge at some equipment store, which I definitely did not make.

I immediately called the bank, and they cancelled my card and said they’ll send me a replacement. They also mentioned that the investigation could take up to 30 business days.

Now I have a few questions:

• Has anyone experienced something like this before?
• How long did it actually take for your issue to get resolved?
• What should I do about the outstanding balance in the meantime?
• Will this situation impact my credit score in any way?
