Hi everyone, I need to vent about this. I'm so tired from this search for an ethical breeder. I want to connect with those that have been on this search and those still on this search.
Of course no one is perfect (myself included because I want a cute puppy) but it's sad that basic breed specific genetic testing isn't a given and all these people (including myself for a few days) are brained washed into thinking 1 thing is right over another (ex: AKC, breeding clubs, no mutts, no actually mutts are healthier, purebreds are inbreds, etc, etc). I went down this infinite rabbit hole starting from puppy mills to BYB to show breeders to they need OFA health certs to also need genetic COI. After finding a breeder that satisfies most checkboxes, I find yet another requirement and I can't seem to check them all. I'm now asking myself "when is it good enough? When can I just buy the pup?" 😩
