First, I want to thank each of you for sharing so much information. My dad is in his early 60s, for YEARS we've been saying he has the lone star disease. Five years no red meat, then he would be okay, then another tick bite and symptoms return. There is no testing where we are, they say no lonestar ticks here no alpha gal. When we asked the hospital doc to test for it they said, "all tick borne illnesses have the same treatment and he's already had antibiotics"

He lost 100lbs, has had multiple hospitalizations. Last week he was in the hospital and I was scrolling reddit and found out alpha gal can be caused by multiple lymes infections. He is now home and alpha gal diet.

I am an allergen certified chef and have cooked in highly restricted kitchens before. So I am preparing all his food now.

Any tips on getting the weight back on him are greatly appreciated. I bought a deep fryer, my current plan is fried chicken and french fries.
