Hi, everyone! I am excited to begin paying more attention to the weather. I live in the United States and recently took on a responsibility at my job where I will need to stay more on top of developing weather conditions. I want/need to do more than just looking at a weather app forecast, so here I am trying to learn principles and practices.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good books introducing beginners to the modern science of meteorology? I would say that I have more than a passing knowledge of physics so I wouldn't mind something targeted at the college level, a good textbook or the like would work just fine. Any other subreddit recommendations, websites you use for incoming data to help understand the weather, or just anything out in the world that is weather-related that you'd recommend for a beginner, please add in a comment. Thank you so much!
