I am a 23 year old actor based in Los Angeles, I am SAG. I ws a child actor, and have been with both my Management and Agents for over thirteen years. My relationship with my agents were good, and I had close relationship with my manager, whom is based in New York. I used to work consistently, was on a show during covid and booked a small role in a big movie shortly after, but have not really worked since then and barely get auditions. Here is the thing, I almost have no relationship with my team anymore; My agency is a big name one and my agents are always busy, they have a large roster- I deal with their assistants. My manager however has basically been ghosting me. They send me an occasional audition every few months, and ignore my emails and calls. I had a second callback for a Marvel lead, and casting reached out to me directly because they couldn't even get in touch with my manager. Things like this have happened a few times recently, which makes me worry that I am missing out on callbacks. I don't have a close relationship with my agents and am worried if I reach out to express interest in finding a new manager, they will simply just drop me as i haven't worked in three years. They're a big name agency and honestly good at negotiating me high pay for the roles I had booked. I am honestly stumped on what to do, my mother used to handle all these things for me when I was younger but she is no longer in the picture. Do I just try to find a new manager on my own, should I find a smaller agent who can actually help find me auditions? Will anyone even take me on if I haven't worked in a few years? I am getting no auditions and am lost. Any advice would be appreciated.
