I’ve got a single shot of a film in very bad quality and an image of the exact same shot in 1080p.

I’ve prompted Seedance with:

“Apply the image quality and color grading of the reference image to the video.”

and lord and behold, it did EXACTLY just that! It’s the exact same shot, every motion and detail of the actor’s face in the same quality as the reference image! I was even able to adjust the dialogue in a second attempt, since he was just talking jibberish in the first output.

Now here’s the issue. It only worked for those two attempts. Since then the outputs are anything BUT a simple restoration of the original video.
I’ve used the same prompt and even tried the same reference video but the results are totally different.

I’ve tried multiple prompts since then, all emphasizing on not altering the reference video but no success.

In most of the cases the reference video is simply ignored and the output looks just like a image to video result.

It’s frustrating because Seedance is obviously capable of doing this but I can’t figure out how to get steady results.

Does anybody have any experience with this and can help? :-)

Many thanks!
