hello! I’m currently a second year (entering third year) student studying at a high-tier private university, with a bachelors in economics and history. I was wondering how do I maximise my chances, based on what I’ve done already, to get into a top masters in economic history programme! I was looking at Edinburgh and Oxbridge (those are the only programmes I know). Otherwise, I’m open to applying to other development oriented programmes.

GPA - 3.59/4 <- I’ve really struggled with some eco courses, which have made my GPA drop .

Deans List in third Semester

Extra curriculars : directed one play and assistant directed another, the one I assistant directed got funding from an academic center at my uni. further directed film shows as well. I also was a head of clubs and societies at the cultural ministry of my university, and I’ve recently become economics and history student representative

Internships : I’ve worked an online history internship, and worked at a finance firm, going to be working at Deloitte and hopefully get a small RAship this summer as well.

for my next year:

I plan to do TAships within the history department, and I’m focusing on doing more econometrics heavy econ courses in the next two years also.

Do I stand a chance? Other than gain LORs, what else can I do to improve my chances?
