What have you learned about yourself during your fountain pen journey?

I'll go first: I don't like understated pens. I like my pens to have panache, to be beautiful (for me), to stand out. Not to the point of being garish (looking at you, weird Montegrappas), but loud enough to make them feel like a true out of the ordinary thing.

The Lamy 2000 is great, technically and absolutely awesome pen. And yet, it gave me nothing. Same with most Montblancs, Sailors. Watermans, etc. Killer pens, no doubt about it, but just not for me.

After having so many pens in my hands. I just came to the simple conclusion that I just like my pens a certain way, and that's okay.

Hi Pen_Swap,

I'm looking to buy a large gold Visconti nib, the ones you find in the old Van Goghs, the Operas, or the Homo Sapiens. I am quite open to sizes, but my preference is with a silver/rhodium plating, or alternatively a bicolor with only the tines in gold, but not so much preference for this. Not really looking for a Pd nib unless you offer me a steal.

I can offer a bicolor nib in M if you want to trade, check my posts. Happy to answer any questions you may have!

For sale is IMHO the best version of the van Gogh pens, the discontinued Maxi version with the bridge clip. Bi tone 14k gold nib in M. It writes very smooth and juicy. I rate the pen as [B] as it has the faintest ring where it caps, but other than that it is in great condition.

The pen is in Germany, but I'm happy to sell worldwide and have done that several times before. Price for this not so easy to find beauty €250, shipping not included. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

After chasing an old Maxi for a while, I finally found a sandalwood that I love, but then it overlapped with my opera red velvet, so it was time to chase a different colorway. Finally, I got one! Just by chance I found it and I am STOKED with the swirls on this one, beautiful, beautiful piece. It is quite superfluous, but I am also super happy that it has the bridge clip and not the old style one.

And now, it is time to send it to a nibmeister that can turn it into a CI grind. This one will likely be my go-to option for journaling, as I love the nose-heavy balance that the converter gives it in comparison to piston or vac fillers. I always feel with the other ones that I need to apply pressure to keep the tip making contact instead of just letting "fall" on the paper, whereas with this one I just need to move my arm and let gravity and capilarity do the rest.

And now, the sad part: I need to sell the red one :D keep your eyes peeled on pen swap if you are looking for one, or just feel free to reach out. Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!
