How do I not get burned out already?

It's only been about 3 months since I began. I enjoy the results i'm getting stronger, i feel better afterwards, and I don't want to quit but I am starting to dread workout days and relish the days I can rest. I don't have any reason to lack motivation and don't need it to be fun just not how it is now.

Would it be better to practice with clay first?

clay seems easier to work with and might help me to understand how to actually sculpt, but is it necessary? Will it be really slow to get better if I don't practice with clay first?

Is there a more permanent way to get rid of rats and mice?

I live in a rural area so they probably live throughout my the entire area in the grass and they inhabit all structures. they mostly live in the garage and a building i use for hobbies. I use bait stations and they are great but they eat them so quick and I regularly forget about them until there is another infestation.

they are mostly attracted to the chicken coop and eat the feed which I can't really do anything about. they seem to live in and around the trees that overhang it.

I cant get a cat either, my dog chases off all the strays that wander onto the property and I wouldn't trust him not to kill a cat if I had one.

is there more I can do or is this just the way it is?
