For about a decade I’ve been a freelance illustrator working on a variety of art jobs, but a good amount of books. All self published by their author’s. My style leans toward children’s books, and so I’ve leaned that way too. I’ve gone to SCBWI LA conferences and my portfolio has won some awards back in 2015-2016. I’m self taught and only took art classes at community college, the business side of art, is also self taught, and I really struggle with self promotion.

I attached some examples of my work.

Here’s the problem - I’m not a kid person. I don’t want to work with kids, I don’t want to do school visits. I’ve wanted to move into chapter books because I do prefer doing work for teens and older sensibilities.

But - I also feel like I’ve only worked in the kid realm of illustration so far and wondering what other illustration venues I could go into. But I’m getting stuck with what I could do - I DO NOT want to be an influencer, I don’t want to sell art courses. I feel like that leaves art licensing or graphic design.
