Hi everyone, I’m seeking some advice and possible insights on my situation. I currently work with one of the nhs trust as a cyber security analyst. I have been sponsored since oct 2023 for a 3yrs visa. I’m due for a renewal in Nov. 2026, in about 6 months time.
My dilemma is this, since the introduction of the new rule and salary immigration list, my occupation code for cybersecurity has a lower going rate that is far higher than my current salary. (As per nhs low salaries) and cyber security was on the shortage list when I was first sponsored. I don’t know what the possibility will be in this situation because as per my understanding, I have to meet the lower going rate for my current job if I was sponsored before the new rule.
My questions are;
(1) Has anyone successfully navigated this issue?
(2) Is it possible to be sponsored in another SOC occupation code that comes close to your current job day to day duties but with a salary threshold that meets mine.
(3) Do I put this to HR now or wait for the standard 3 months rule to the end of my visa as my organisation stipulates.
(4) What are my chances?
