PGY3/HMO in a regional hospital. Had a weekend where the consultant communicated through the reg and I didn’t any chance to examine or present patients. When I tried to ask questions, I felt dismissed and literally didn’t get a response from him.

He also made comments about preferring registrars over HMOs (including saying HMOs shouldn’t be rostered on alone after hours since they aren’t experienced).
This is the second time I’ve heard this from him.
My reg also noticed the dynamic.

Ended up feeling like I was mostly there for admin work.

Is this something others have experienced? How have you guys dealt with it, just adapt or raise it?
