Advice needed!
I chair a small board for a local daycare. The daycare has 12 staff and have made a decision to cut operating hours from 6pm close to 5:30pm closing. The reasoning is not enough staffing to adequately cover that shift.
Some bosrd members want to unilaterally decide that the hours need to change but I believe that is an operational matter and not something the board can force into happening.
I suggested creating policy or something indicating this is our wishes and asking for something back in writing to indicate why this can’t be met.
Any advice is welcome, I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place here
