I know generally the advice is to stain, and we're leaning toward staining. However, in our case reapplication is more of a pain because we have to take down the nets to get to the hard-to-reach areas, and we read paint doesn't need to be reapplied as often. Also my parents think that this wood isn't "high quality" and so we should hide it with paint.
At the same time though, we like the more rustic look of seeing more of the wood grain.
Note that the wood isn't suuuper old, built in 2017.
Any advice on whether we should paint or stain? And if we stain, should we use transparent, semi-solid, or solid stain?
