I just had my F-1 visa interview in Toronto and was given a yellow 221(g) slip. The officer kept my passport and I-20 and checked the box asking me to make all my social media accounts public. She said no additional documents are needed from me right now and that they just need to check my social media. she also said something like “you’ll get it back in 5 business days once I check your social media.”
I’m a funded PhD student, applying with a French passport. My field is Clinical Psychology, so nothing sensitive/STEM-related.
Has anyone had this exact kind of 221(g) where the only issue seemed to be social media review? Is this pretty standard procedure now, and did it actually resolve quickly for you if the officer gave a short estimate like that?
