I was gifted this supposed single-shot converted kar98, any idea what it could actually be?

Basically, it turned out that a friend of my dad's a massive militaria collector, and he's moving in nearby. He doesnt have the space for a lot of his items, so he's gifted a few to me. This is one of them.

This rifle was dug by him in Poland, and he claims its a kar98 converted to a single shot rifle after the war. However, i just dont see the point why would anyone even do this. The magazine box and extractor also couldnt have just simply eroded, as the rest of the gun is in very decent condition. The scope also seems to match none of the wartime ones, and VK rifles never had one as far as i'm aware.

(Just a heads up, the gun has actually been legalized by the guy, as, like i mentioned, he's a long time collector and has quite a few contacts that somehow allowed him to save it from getting scrapped.)

Od soboty ostro bolał mnie jeden z zębów. Pojechałem dzisiaj prywatnie do dentysty, i okazało się, że problem tkwi w zębie obok, który dwa lata temu był leczony kanałowo przez innego stomatologa.

Okazało się, że kanał zęba był całkowicie pusty, a na dnie znajduje się ułamany kawałek metalowego pilnika. W efekcie, powstał bardzo duży ropień, powodujący ból sąsiedniego zęba. Sprzątanie tego całego syfu będzie mnie kosztować dwa tysiące.

Teraz pytanie, co zrobić, aby winowajca poniósł konsekwencje, i wypłacił odszkodowanie? Za same rozwalenie zęba zapłaciłem już u niego kolejne tysiąc czterysta. Mało tego, naraził mnie na uszczerbek zdrowia w przypadku pęknięcia ropniaka, czy rozszerzenia zakażenia (choruję sercowo, i nie każdy antybiotyk mogę przyjmować więc takie zakażenie jest dla mnie szczególnie niebezpieczne). Od tamtego czasu miałem także robiony dwukrotnie rezonans magnetyczny, który nie wiem jakim cudem nie skończył się tragedią.
