1st season: everything worked like a charm other than the usual flaws of all robomowers (sensors missing some stuff, bumped catching higher grass, missing the charging station, etc)
2nd season: first issues. The robot begins to behave erratically when it's asked to raise or lower the cutting disks. Never understood why. Spent several weeks stuck at 70 mm height then it returned to normal without reason.
3rd season: more erratic behavior with cutting heights, erratic behavior of the battery (eventually found out it had to be replaced after many exchanges with the after sales). 1 month without mowing because it has to cross all of Europe to get repaired. Eventually the battery worked normally again but the height adjustment issue returned. Of course warranty was over.
It disappeared again.
Few weeks later, due to a mole hole the luba apparently damaged one its cutting disks on a rock. Bought new ones. Due to a design flaw the new disk and a steel part broke like 20 hours of cutting later.
I know it's going to be a pain to get a spare part due to how Mammotion deals with replacement, repairs (read: you'll wait for ages and you're never sure to get the work done; anyways they're rolling out new generations and you can expect that spare parts are already scarce).
So I'm done. Fine; on the paper Mammotion had all what you'd expect and more from an automower and it offers more features than it's western competitors for less. But don't get fooled: chinese engineering and after sales is not on par with made in Europe stuff and as many europeans know, we supply lines may be cut in the future, de facto bricking stuff engineered, managed and produced outside of the EU.
I switched to a Husqvarna and that's day and night. On top of that I know that if nasty stuff happens, my robot won't be bricked, all the data is stored in the EU or will be used by an hostile foreign power.

Outdoor robots MUST be tough and engineered the right way to sustain the hardships of outdoor conditions. Any flaw, especially since it is an unattended device leads to catastrophic consequences. Which become even harder to overcome if you don't have a repair shop next door. Realistically, even if Mammotion wished to give up the dropshipping or one shot customer strategy, it would take years to fix. You don't built a continental retailing/repair network in a few months. It takes decades. Your Luba will be dead or out of warranty well before.
