I know my rant probably isn't gonna do anything, but that whole aspect seems very shortsighted.
Nobody even factored in the nuance of getting to and from said volunteer site (which costs money).
Whatever bro.
EDIT: The solution should be if a recipient isn't working then they are required to submit X number of job applications per week (verifiable proof) to stay in compliance, and accept any job offer that pays atleast minimum wage in whatever state you live. This solution would be FAR more productive, and in theory, would help said individuals eventually get off of public assistance (which is what the administration wants anyway right?).
CALL TO ACTION: This is a longshot, but if anybody in the media reads my post, I am willing to do an interview about this situation and my personal experience regarding how the work requirement nuances are cumbersome in regards to receiving SNAP. And if anybody who works for the USDA reads this, i'm asking if it's possible if my proposed solution would be possible and the steps to getting it implemented. Thanks.
