Hi everyone!
I’m a hobby/ amateur home chemist.
I was hoping to try and convert some citric acid into oxalic acid. This is for the purpose of making potassium ferrioxalate crystals later on.
I read that using FeSO4 and pharmacy grade H2O2 with some mild heating can cause the citric acid to degrade into oxalic acid.
Has anyone here tried this before? I’m not really concerned about purity or yield, just doing a practice run and wanted to know if anyone had some pointers when it came to Fenton chemistry like this.
