Life is just a lot right now, and I’m having a very hard time coping. I’m a 43 year old single father of two, and I lost my job of 12 years February of 05. The company was “downsizing” and I got caught in the crossfire. Spent months trying to just get an interview, and finally I was able to secure something a month ago. I started the job contingent on my background check, and things were going well. Well, two days ago I was let go. I assumed they only went back 7 years, but they ran a full criminal background check, and I was let go for a misdemeanor marijuana possession in 2011. I’m on the verge of losing everything, as I apply to hundreds of job listings and get no calls. My son’s birthday is next week, 13, and I won’t even be able to give him a proper party….I just feel like life is kicking my ass as every turn. Thank god for SNAP benefits, or I really don’t know what we would do! I’m down, lonely, and lost….and I could really stand to hear something positive!
