Hey All👋 r/Hevy

First of all, amazing app. I recently switched to Hevy and it completely solved one of my biggest issues tracking sets, reps, and progressive overload properly. Really love the simplicity and focus.

I wanted to highlight a UX gap I noticed while using routines:

🔁 Routine Sync Issue

If I add the same exercise (e.g., Push-ups) in multiple routines (like Chest day and Shoulder day), the data doesn’t feel “connected” at the routine level.

Yes, the exercise history exists, but:

  • It doesn’t automatically reflect across routines in a seamless way
  • I still have to manually check previous performance

👉 A more unified “exercise intelligence layer” across routines would be a huge upgrade.

For example:

  • Auto-suggest last performance regardless of routine
  • Smarter linking of exercises across plans
  • Clear visibility of progression independent of routine structure

🎯 Apple Watch UX Appreciation + Opportunity

I recently tried another app called Bevel.

Honestly:

  • Mobile UX felt average
  • But their Apple Watch UI & UX experience was 🔥

Things they nailed:

  • Left → Right swipe = Pause/Stop
  • Right → Left swipe = Music controls

👉 Extremely intuitive and fast during workouts

🙌 Contribution Offer to the Admin

I’m a UI/UX designer and genuinely love what you’re building.

I’d love to contribute ideas specifically around:

  • Apple Watch UX improvements
  • Workout flow optimization
  • Micro-interactions during workouts

I’d be happy to help for free just to support the Hevy community and product.

Would love to hear your thoughts on:

  1. Cross-routine exercise sync
  2. Apple Watch UX enhancements

Thanks again for building such a solid prod.
