R51 Pathfinder Driver Door child lock by itself in time
After a number of months of owning a used R51 pathfinder, the driver door goes into child lock by itself. I fixed it but 2 months later it happened again. Spray on R40 lube didnt fix.
When the mechanism goes into child lock by itself, my door can only be opened from the outside. I fixed it by removing door card and dissassemble enough to get door mechanism out. It has a side switch that needs to be switched. Dissassembly takes an hour and a half for me.
I wonder if there is a way to poke into the door mechnism from the outside to reset the switch without reassembling the door. The last time i almost stripped the screws for the door card stuff right down, im wondering for a cheep perminent fix. My first idea was drilling a screw into the door mechanism part to keep the child switch where it is
