I want to make the jump into REP this summer but I need a wide lens. I only have a 50 mm lenses on my canon r8 atm.

Which 16-35 would be best. I’m looking at the EF versions to hopefully save some money.

Should I do the 2.8 i, ii, iii or the f/4 version? If I had the money I’d do the mark 3 but I don’t so I’m wondering if it’s worth it to save more and get the mark 3 2.8 version or just go with the f4 version. Is the extra stop worth it? I was hoping to also use the lens for astrophotography.

Is the mark ii f2.8 really that bad? People say stay away but I wonder if it’s just Reddit talk.
