A review of How I Met The Robin

How I Met The Robin by u/mrvoiceover001 is a 2hr film made from S1 of HIMYM that focuses on Ted and Robin.

It's been a long while since I've seen HIMYM, and this was a fun watch! This edit is a good and digestible story. Finding the right scenes to make a 2hr movie from 8hrs of footage is impressive! And the ending was cathartic. I was 3/4 through the movie before I even realized that I wasn't hearing a laugh track. I guess the editor removed it so cleanly and so well that I didn't even notice anything was off. The widescreen is a nice touch. (Occasionally it feels like the frame position could be adjusted.) Overall it's a very good edit! And I'm looking forward to what comes next.

May the Fourth is nine days away! And for the next nine days, we're hosting a Best in (Category) Star Wars fanedit competition!

Here's how it works:

Nominate. Know a Star Wars fanedit that deserves recognition? Leave a comment with the edit's name, author, and an informational link -- such as a release post here on r/fanedits, or an entry on FE, MR, or OT -- so that others can learn about it and get in touch with the editor. One edit per comment, please... it makes our job much easier!

Vote. You decide which edits will win! See a nominated edit that you want to vote for? Reply to that edit's comment with the word "Vote." This is what we'll be counting, not reddit upvotes/downvotes.

Already reviewed one of the nominated edits? We'd love to read it! Reply to that edit's comment with a link to your review. Or, already watched the edit but haven't written a review yet? Now's a great time! Share a blurb about why you love it.

Categories! The Star Wars universe is a big place, so this competition will feature multiple winnable categories. But the Star Wars universe is also such a big place that I couldn't possibly predict every category, and so you all will also decide which categories we should add! Leave a comment to nominate a new category (one category per comment, please), and reply to a category that you'd like us to add with the word "Vote."

Every couple days, I'll make a new sticky comment with the top leaders so far and any new categories.

Voting will close and winners will be announced on May the Fourth, so don't wait! Let's see which fanedits the community thinks deserve to win. Winning editors who are Reddit users will receive a special flair to show off their achievement!

🏆 Best in (Category) Star Wars Fanedit Award

Some fine print:

  • Voting is open to anyone with an account at least 30 days old who has participated in r/fanedits in some way.
  • You're welcome to nominate your own work, and you can vote for your own edit.
  • Vote solicitation (asking for votes) on Reddit or other platforms is not allowed and may result in disqualification.

We can't wait to see your nominations! Let's celebrate the art of fanediting! 🎬
