Offer accepted on a property in Scotland, my first Mortgage ever at 51. What things do I need to know?

Basically as above. Thanks to my company's Sharesave and a donation from my Mum I'm finally getting on the housing ladder at 51. An offer was accepted today on a property and, assuming all goes well, I'll be in before the end of July, maybe even sooner.

Obviously, being rather new to all this, what are some things I likely won't realise, or just plain forget about that I should be aware of? I've had a Quote for buildings and contents insurance, I've sorted some life cover too. What am I forgetting?

The club is on the up, playing exciting football and taking the game to the old firm. Ticket demand, both match day and season is rising, so ianit about time the club looked at expanding Tynecastle? I know the stadium is surrounded on all sides but could the corners be filled in adding a few thousand in capacity? Could even a move away from Tynecastle be required? Match day revenue is an important income stream that we're missing out on our potential in. How can the club improve and increase revenue?
