Recently inherited an older home and we are doing a full renovation before moving in.
This is our first home so I know(knew) NOTHING. Although I am relatively handy. Almost done with demo!
Anyway, the outside of the house needs some work. It’s almost completely brick except for a back addition done in the 80s. And there’s wood soffits going all the way around the house.
The roof was replaced last year. The roof that it replaced was very old and way overdue. There are 3-4 sections of soffit that look water damaged. House is getting painted soon but need all this solid first.
I will attach a photo of the worst section of soffit. Is this a DIY? Looks pretty straightforward. Is it as simple as just cutting out what’s bad and replacing it? How would I go about (or should I even) matching the existing “design” in the soffit?
Would appreciate any advice. I did some research but couldn’t find much on soffits quite like mine. A lot of posts were talking about aluminum ones. Also have to replace some siding, I think. Will attach a photo but may save those questions for another post.
